The poem, The Author To Her Book, is told in the perspective of a woman, whom also appears to be a mother. As the poem starts out in a cruel tone, "Till snatcht from thence by friends, less wise than true.." It then transitions into sympathetic, "Yet being my own, at length affection would.." I liked this poem because of the use of irony between the mother and her child. The poem starts out by accusing the child of wrong doings because of the people the child has chose to be around. However, though, when you reach the end, the poem uncovers the details of the mothers past, which elicit that the child and the mother were actually the same. That is why this poem is titled "The Author To Her Book"
